You're trusting us with sensitive business information, so here's exactly how we handle it — no legalese games. This reflects the Australian Privacy Act and its 2025 reforms.

Who we are

Shear Profit is a coaching service operated by Mathew Paul Grumley, trading as Shear Genius Scissorsmiths, ABN 22 307 274 752, Ballarat VIC. We are the entity accountable for your information under the Australian Privacy Act. Contact: matt@sheargenius.com.au.

What we collect

The details you type into the snapshot (your salon, your figures, your team, your goals, your contact details) and publicly available information on your website that our tool reads — which can include the business phone number and email shown on your site, so we can reach you about your report.

How we read your website

We only read pages that are already public — the same thing any visitor sees. We never log in or access anything behind a password, and we honour robots.txt: if your site asks crawlers not to read it, we don't — we simply ask you for the details directly instead.

Why we collect it

Solely to build your report and discuss it with you. Marketing messages (from Shear Profit, ShearGenius or findme.hair) only go to people who separately opt in, and you can unsubscribe any time.

Who sees it

Only Matt and Aaron. We never sell your data. We use trusted service providers (secure hosting in Australia where possible, and a database) purely to run the service — nothing more.

How long we keep it & deleting it

We keep your figures for up to 12 months after we deliver your report, then delete or anonymise them. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time — email matt@sheargenius.com.au and we'll action it within 30 days.
