Two operators. Not two consultants.
Every coach in this space teaches. Matt and Aaron have done it — built salons, sold salons, paid the wages, eaten the no-shows, and figured out what actually works. 75+ years between them, all of it behind the chair and in business. That's the bit you can't fake.

Matt Grumley
Over 36 years behind the chair — hairdresser, educator and scissorsmith. Matt has built and sold several salons of his own, including one with 18 staff, founded ShearGenius in 2007, and built findme.hair, the directory of close to 13,800 Australian salons and barbershops. Chair, owner, scissorsmith, and the data on the whole industry — few people have seen a salon from as many sides. Matt knows salons.

Aaron Davis
Nearly four decades behind the chair, and has owned and run successful businesses of his own. Aaron is the team-and-floor specialist — pay models, rosters, culture and getting a salon to run without the owner in every chair.
Why we built Shear Profit
Running a salon is a lonely road. You're surrounded by people all day, but the hard decisions — pricing, wages, whether you can afford to hire, why there's nothing left at the end of a flat-out week — land on you alone. We've both sat exactly there.
Shear Profit is the thing we wish we'd had: two people who've run the chairs, in your corner, telling you the truth about your numbers and helping you fix them. Coaches, mentors, a sounding board — call it what you like. The point is you don't do it on your own anymore.
It works. The average salon we look at is leaving $40,000 to $70,000 a year on the table — in the clients and chairs they already have. One Victorian salon we work with is on track for an extra $400,000 a year, on the path to a million-dollar business. Their numbers, their result — a scenario built from real data, never a promise.
We work with your accountant, never instead of them. We coach the business; tax and legal calls go to your registered professional. And we'll never sell you a number we can't stand behind — every forward figure is an honest estimate, not a promise.
